Wind instrument - A wind instrument is a musical instrument that contains some type of resonator (usually a tube), in which a column of air is set into vibration by the player blowing into (or over) a mouthpiece set at the end of the resonator. The pitch of the vibration is determined by the length of the tube and by manual modifications of the effective length of the vibrating column of air.

Yu (wind instrument) - The yu (竽; pinyin: yú) was a free reed wind instrument used in ancient China. It was similar to the sheng, with multiple bamboo pipes fixed in a gourd wind chest.

Period instrument music - Period instruments, or playing on period instruments refers to performance of classical music on the original instruments of Renaissance, Baroque or Classicism, or using the historical replicas of the original instruments preserved in the museums.
